Student Sports Reporting Contests — Coming September 2009

Beginning September 2009, students will be encouraged to assume the role of a sports reporter and win valuable prizes!
 

Sample Contests Include:

  • Write a game report of a nationally televised game, including headline.
     
  • Write an article on which player was the most outstanding while watching the game on television (or in person).
     
  • Write an opinion piece on your favorite athlete and why.
     
  • Write an article on your favorite sports team you enjoy watching and why.
     
  • Write a retrospective on an historic game from the past.
     
  • Write an enterprise article on how sports have affected the economy of your region.
     
  • Write a human interest piece on how a particular athlete is contributing to the community.
     
  • Write a column addressing a specific aspect of a team of your choice and how it influences American life.
     
  • Write a history of sports in America.
     
  • Write a preview story of an upcoming game of your choice.
